Wow! I have to say I love this location! No two ways around it, the Karisma resorts are real wedding professionals in the Mayan Riviera area and every wedding I have photographed at the EDR has been simply beautiful. It was great to be back at the El Dorado Royale so soon after John and Linda’s amazing destination wedding. Lindsey and I were anticipating a great day and were not disappointed in the least! I will let the images do the talking…Camille and Chris had so much style and I really think you can see their delight in the photos. A wonderful day all around!
I loved Camille’s sister/maid of honor’s reaction when she saw Camille in her dress.
Loved the shoes!
Camille wore vintage jewelry, it was perfect!
Time for the ceremony. There is nothing more beautiful than a Mayan Riviera beach wedding. This ceremony was held at the Presidential gazebo at EDR, really the name is not very descriprive…it is a very simple wood structure surrounded only by ocean and the most lush green vegetation…beautiful!

Those who read my blog regularly may have picked up on the fact that there is a method to the madness…No posts about my dog (although he is the cutest and most clueless poodle around and really deserves to dress up in costumes and have a photo session, oh the guilt!). You won’t find photos from my latest vacation (wait a minute…what latest vacation?) or news about my recent photo contest awards (Apparently you have to actually enter to have a shot at those).
But boy do we do have weddings to share and each and every one is just delightful! While I am finishing up all the images from Camille and Chris’ amazingly beautiful El Dorado Royale beach wedding (planning on sharing those tomorrow morning) I thought I would break my self imposed “blog in order” rule and sneak in a few out of order “teaser” photos from a sensational destination wedding in the Mayan Riviera at the Paradisus resort. So without further ado, Fanny and Dan in the Mayan Riviera…
It didn’t start out as a great weather day (come rain AND come swine as one bridesmaid ruefully commented) but it took a positive turn during the ceremony and the evening was glorious. Lots of bride and groom photos in this batch….such a sweet couple!
More to come! :-)

Shana and Jeff, what can I say? Sometimes you meet a couple who seem so perfect for each other it just seems to prove that destiny is hard at work! Or as they say in Spanish that each person has a “media naranja” or “half orange” waiting to be found! In other words a dream team, two of a kind or “tal para cual”…know what I mean? It was an honor to be able to capture a bit of the magic of the day these two were married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Jeff is an amazing graphic designer and the couple was able to put a personal creative touch into many of the wedding details like the very unique invitation which featured their story and the favorite flower of both, the daisy.

The beautiful bride before the ceremony. I love doing bridal portraits prior to the ceremony whenever there is time, and the photographs are always some of my favorites. I think there are probably about 5 women in the universe that could pull of a dress like this one, it looked absolutely perfect on Shana!

Jeff and Shana put a special twist on the sand ceremony or unity by incorporating their families and wedding party.

Paraiso de la Bonita is a very charming boutique hotel near Puerto Morelos in Mexico’s Mayan Riviera. It is a favorite travel destination for Crystal and Kevin and of course absolutely perfect for this fantastic couple’s destination wedding. I loved the colors and the resort’s unique vibe, which seemed to be Mexican with a kind of chic twist. Gracias Crystal and Kevin for sharing your day! Muchas felicidades!
I really love to look for little details that communicate a sense of the feeling of a place.

The first look….so glad Kevin and Crystal planned this and a pre wedding photo session, it really made the day go smoothly.

The ceremony site at the beach of the Paraiso de la Bonita, very secluded and beautiful.

The beautiful guest below is one of the few peopel I have ever seen take more photographs than I do! I am sure she got some great shots thoughout the day!

When we met up with Mulu in the salon at the Dreams Resort in Cancun there was tension floating in the air along with the hairspray. Her relatives, including her father who was to walk her down the aisle had been scheduled to arrive the day before but instead had been stranded in a far off airport, unable to reach Cancun in time for the afternoon wedding ceremony. Fortunately the wedding story turned out happily, the resort graciously allowed for the ceremony time to be moved back and Mulu´s family arrived just in the nick of time for this once in a lifetime celebration.
I have to admit that I love all my clients. Something about spending their happiest day ever focusing on capturing all the joy they are experiencing seems to have that effect! Mulu and Sean were an extra extra special pair! After having such a fabulous time spending their wedding day and trash the dress session with this beautiful couple at Dreams resort in Cancun it makes me sad to think they live so far away! Mulu and Sean, thank you for all your kindness in sharing your day with us!
Mulu was such a beautiful bride as I am sure Sean would agree!

Bride and groom with the whole wedding party

This next one is just silly! Can´t have a destination wedding without speedo man, right?.

Mulu and Sean did a ¨first look¨ and some portraits before the wedding, such a great idea to have a private moment before the wedding day craziness begins.

The next two shots were taken when Mulu walked up the to the ocean front gazebo.

Sean´s wrote his own vows and they were very moving.

The beach reception…

The sunrise trash the dress session at, gulp, 6 am the moring after the wedding. It was actually dark when we started!

The Dreams Cancun lighthouse is one of the reasons Mulu and Sean chose the resort so it was fun to incorporate it into the trash the dress photos.
