We had been looking forward to Amber and Jero’s wedding weekend since their engagement photographs at Yucatan’s Hacienda Temozon back in March. This time the location was the Mayan Riviera and the occasions was a two day celebration of Amber and Jero’s wedding, beginning on Friday with the civil ceremony on the beach of the Marina Maroma and finishing up the following evening with a Catholic wedding mass at the beautiful El Dorado Royale Resort. An all around beautiful event overflowing with love and happiness!
A few photographs from Friday’s civil ceremony, all images Elizabeth and Lauren Medina:

First time seeing each other as bride and groom…Amber and Jero had a more “beachy” look for the civil wedding…

A few bride and groom photos captured prior to the ceremony at the marina…

WOW… Jero’s bride made her ceremony entrance on a white horse accompanied by her parents.

The big day at El Dorado Royale. This resort is for sure one of my favorites because of the lush landscaping and beautiful ocean. Amber and Jero were married indoors in the evening but fortunately made the decision to meet for photographs prior to the ceremony which allowed us to play with some of the EDR’s beautiful scenery. Getting ready:

First look followed by photos of Amber and Jero together and off to the ceremony and reception….

Having met Sue and Roan a few months back in Tulum I knew a bit about their relaxed and somewhat non-traditional plans for the wedding. It was really great to see how the plans became a beautiful reality on the wedding day. The El Dorado Maroma is a small and intimate resort, perfect for the wedding which was held on the wooden pier deck over the ocean. Lauren and I met with the bride and groom prior to the ceremony for a “first look” and then some portraits of bride and groom around the garden areas of the resort. I felt that we were able to capture some of the “spark” between Sue and Roan who seemed to light up in each other’s company.

A few images from the ceremony over the ocean.
The next two images are Lauren’s, I loved both moments!
I am not even going to try to explain what is going on here since I don’t know if I really understood!

One thing I love about destination weddings is that they lend themselves so well to very intimate, expressive ceremonies. Witnessing so many couple’s special day, each one unique and beautiful, I realize over and over again that it is not large guest list or all the trimmings and extras that make the wedding truly meaningful, rather it is the spirit of love and commitment that can be felt most powerfully. Of course sand, ocaean and sky make th most wonderful decorations! Shura and Tim love the ocean, and he actually proposed under water while scuba diving! So I guess the choice of an intimate beach ceremony at the beautiful and relaxing El Dorado Maroma (AKA Mi Hotelito) surrounded by a close group of friends was a natural one. Thank you Shura and Tim for allowing us to join you on your wonderful day, best wishes to the two of you!
I liked the warm, rich colors of the flowers! Rings and rose petals…
Shura’s bouquet.
A little champagne toast during the getting ready photos from the HMOH. (honorary matron of honor!).
Shura and tim met before the ceremony so we could get photographs of the two of them. That was great but kind of scary when it started to rain during the photo session! They were good sports though and thankfully the rain stopped in plenty of time!
The ceremony on the beach.
Tim’s vows were on little slates just like his underwater proposal! It was hilarious!
Time to celebrate!
The coctail hour was held in a poolside palapa, very laid back.
A few night photographs after dinner. The second was captured by Lauren, I loved her take on the moment!

Kim and Tim’w wedding was so much fun! They are one of those couples that just seems to be a perfect match, and are both down to earth and fun. I loved the color scheme of the wedding, the very unique ceremony location, the really fun and crazy bridesmaids and groomsmen and the special details, not to mention Tim and Kim’s surprise choreographed first dance. I think I will let pictures speak louder than words on this one! Kim and Tim, congratulations to both of you! I hope you enjoy the photographs!
I love to do bridal portraits when there is a few quiet minutes before the wedding starts. Kim looked awesome.
The ceremony site at the Maroma was incredible! It had actually been raining as I drove to the wedding location, I was so glad it stopped and the wedding could go on as planned in this one of a kind location!
Two perspectives as Kim and her father walked down the “aisle”, the photograph on the left is mine and the one on the right is Lindsey’s.
A moment during the ceremony.
How fun is this? A really talented bridesmaid had made all the foot jewelry for Kim and the girls!
The wedding party, sometimes there are photographs that just make me smile, this is one of those!
Relaxed portraits of the bride and groom…
The bride and groom had a great entrance/first dance that took everyone by surprise!
