Finally! I just had to steal a little extra computer time to share photographs from Jada and Paul’s Playa del Carmen wedding. I apologize for the over abundance of images in this blog post but I guess it was unavoidable- I love looking back at the photographs that Lauren and I captured at this bright and happy wedding almost as much as I was smitten with this very delightful couple themselves. Jada and Paul, thank you so much for your kindness and for making shooting your wedding in Mexico such a pleasure!

Not only did and Eric and Marjorie get married at the very same location where they first met each other… the wedding was a lovely destination wedding surrounded by family and friends in Playa del Carmen Mexico… how’s that for tying history and future happiness all up in one beautiful package? I guess there is something to be said for meeting “the one” in paradise! Lindsey and I photographed this Mexico wedding at the Iberostar Paraiso Grand in Playa del Carmen, I have been so lax with the blog this summer that it is almost embarrassing at this point but I am so happy to have a chance to share the images with anyone out there who may still be checking for updates! I have to mention that it was so awesome for us to work alongside wedding filmmaker Joel Serrato, I do hope his super 8 film camera was waterproof because I think I may have drooled on it a few times! Marjorie and Eric… it was a privilege to photograph the two of you and we wish you all the very best! All photography (c)2012 Elizabeth and Lindsey Medina.

It was hard to narrow down the photos from Karina and Richie’s wedding and trash the dress session to a reasonable number! Karina and Richie are the sweetest couple ever and their wedding was beautiful and very emotional. After going through and tagging images to include I realized that I had chosen 99 images! I wanted to share them all but if blogs were boats I know this one would surely sink, so I will confess to using the eeny meeny mini mo method to reach a somewhat reasonable number. Karina and Richie, Lauren and I appreciate the opportunity to photograph your big day, not to mention the very “memorable” trash the dress session. Gracias por ser como son y muchas felicidades a los dos!
We loved Karina’s shoes…

Headed to the ceremony, karina had not only two bridemaids but also the cutest little attendant ever helping with her train. As tiny as he was he took it very seriously and did a wonderful job, thank you Lauren for photographing him!

The vows were very emotional!

Wedding party and bride and groom photos on the beach.

Karina and Richie used traditional handcrafted Mexican toys and musical instruments as centerpieces and the reception. It looked very colorful and the guests had a great time playing with them!

Toasts and the bride and groom’s first dance…

The next morning bride and groom woke up early for a day after trash the dress session in the ocean.

What fun! Destination weddings are such a great combination of vacation and celebration. Kristin and Ryan were the perfect bride and groom for a destination wedding, being low maintenance, ready to enjoy it all in the company of a wild group of friends and relatives and very good sports about photography! We had plenty of time for bride and groom photos in lots of different locations around the beautiful Iberostar resort, both before and after the ceremony and early the next morning at the trash the dress session. I will let the images do the talking….Thank you, Kristin and Ryan, we loved spending time with the two of you on your big day in Mexico!
Kristin before the ceremony…
And Ryan…
They met for a “first look” in this charming little courtyard.
And some photographs in the jungle…the iberostar is really neat because it has a wide variety of spaces.
Kristin and her attendants arriving a the ceremony location on the beach. I really don’t know how I managed to get a clean shot since the bridge was quite busy. Pretty fortunate!
A few photographs from the beach ceremony….
The sand ceremony…
Photographs after the ceremony…
We snuck out of the reception for a few fun night photographs with this carousel that Kristin and Ryan had spotted earlier in the week, what a great idea!
In spite of the wild party, the next morning Kristin and Ryan were up nice and early for a trash the dress session, I wasn’t kidding when I said the bride and groom were good sports! I think it was worth the effort!

Megan and Matt had a very intimate and beautiful beach wedding at the Paraiso Iberostar in the Maya Riviera. I loved the colors and details that were chosen, they harmonized perfectly with the setting. The ceremony was held just a few feet away from the ocean, it was the first beach ceremony I have photographed where there was no altar, podium, Chuppah or arch of any kind, nothing at all but the bride and groom, family and friends and sand, water and sky. It was simply perfect! I really do not think I have seen the water or sky more beautiful, and since I photogrpah so often in Cancun and the the Rivera Maya I think that is really saying something! The colors of the ocean and sky were glorious.
Thank you Megan and Matt for all your kindness, it was so wonderful to be treated as old friends throughout the day. We wish you both the best of everything! I am really looking forward to creating your wedding album to showcase and preserve the memories of the day. Here are a few of the photographs:
I coudn’t resist a beachy shot of the rings.
There is a tradition among destination wedding brides of preparing OOT (out of town) bags filled with little things to make their guests stay more comfortable. Instead of bags Megan used beach buckets in her theme color, pink. How cute is that? At the dinner reception there were little pink pails filled with M & Ms (which stands for Megan and Matt of course!)
Even the dress got to go outdoors for photos.
One last check on the mirror. As much as I love photographing veils I also really love the no veil look, especially with a hairstyle like Megan’s.
I think the only special request Megan made all day was a photograph of Matt tying his tie! Did I do OK?
Matt and Megan met in a really special garden area to take some pictures together before the ceremony.
While i was getting shots like the one above my assistant captured the one below, I loved it!
Bride and groom with maid of honor and best man.
Another amazing detail, little bags of flower petals tucked into the chair covers.
Here comes the bride…
