Sonja and Dave were married at Le Reve in Playa del Carmen, Lauren and I loved photographing these two, not only do they have amazing energy and planned a beautiful wedding with an elegant but rustic feel (insert big shout out to le Reve wedding planners Arlenis and Mariana and their team, as well as the fantastic Planner 1), they also proved themselves to be up for anything, and definitely not the kind to let a little rain get in the way of having a great time! Between the wedding day and trash the dress session I know this is a very long post but I can’t help wanting to share! Getting ready, Sonja’s mom seeing her daughter as a bride…

Such lovely flowers…very much in sync with the wedding’s organic chic theme.

Bride and her girls before the ceremony…

Just as bride was set to enter the ceremony the rain rolled in! Everyone ran for cover and fortunately it passed and the show could go on!

Reception decor, so relaxed and beautiful.

As the guests were seated for dinner I noticed that the bride and groom were not to be found… going out for a few photographs of the exterior I found them in this beautiful spot just having a moment together while waiting to be announced and join their guests.

I will have to say my expectations of Sonja and Dave actually showing up for the planned trash the dress session were a little low… not only was it very early the morning after the wedding… it was actually RAINING! Fortunately they were up for it and I loved the images we captured both between and during the rain showers!

Sahar and Matt’s wedding was held on the beach at one of my favorite Mayan Riviera beach wedding locations, Le Reve in Playa del Carmen. This beautiful beach location seemed just perfect for this couple, relaxed but also elegant. I knew the second I met Sahar that she was high energy all the way! There was seriously never a dull second, the day flew by. Thank you Sahar and Matt, for being so fantastic! All photographs by Elizabeth and Lindsey Medina.

I loved Lindsey’s next shot!

The girls look fabulous!

Following the beach ceremony and cocktails Matt and Sahar had a Persion ceremony. Somehow I ended up photographing while perched in a tree…love the photos though!

The Persian ceremony started off with a bit of dancing, the next photo is Lindsey’s.

As fun as it is to photograph a gorgeous wedding like that of Jalé and Ken at La Reve near Playa del Carmen, I have to think it must also be one of the most amazing things in the world to be a guest at a destination wedding and spend a whole weekend in Paradise kicking back and celebrating the marriage of a wonderful couple. What a fantastic experience. I think everyone should have a destination wedding if at all possible and rejoice if they are invited to one and able to make the journey!
Jale and Ken made us feel like special guests at their Mexico wedding. I will confess that I have a slightly immature love of “out of town bags”, those wonderful goodie filled bags that destination couples often prepare for their guests. Something about those little trial size tubes of sunscreen and personalized playing cards just appeals to my inner child! Jale and Ken graciously surprised us by having one of their OT bags waiting for us, it was lovely and truly did make us feel like honored participants at this very special event. Thank you Jale and Ken, it was such an honor to document your wedding!
Before the welcome dinner we did a few casual photographs near the Quinta Avenida and I was happy to have a chance to get the know the bride and groom before all the action started.
The wedding was held at le Reve, a very intimate “boutique” hotel. The whole hotel was reserved for the wedding guests…wow!
A few details.
Bridal prep.
Just beautiful.
The gorgeous ceremony site.
A memorable moment between the bride and her father.
We were able to do photographs on the beach after the ceremony.

I guess I was’t the only one having fun with my camera!
Early teh next moring we met to trash the dress. I admire people who not only get up so early on the morning afte the wedding but look so good!
