Gemma and Carlos traveled half way around the world with a large group of fun-loving friends and family to be married in a chapel in the town of Puerto Morelos. Just thinking back to the sight of this oh so international couple and their group enjoying the Mayan Riviera really brings a smile to my face! Great energy! Here are just a few of the couple’s happy moments and a tiny sample of the thoughtful details from the day. Gemma and Carlos, thank you for being so much fun, it was a joy to photograph your Mexico wedding! And of course a big thanks to event coordinator Maju and her team from Leanne Marie Weddings! The rings and a few bride and groom getting ready photographs:
Gemma looked amazing and everyone was so excited to see her marry Carlos. I think it is fair to say that her wedding look knocked the socks off her bridal party!
The bride and groom were so much fun, it was great to see everyone notice the “help” message on the soles of Carlos’s shoes.
Married! The celebration begin on the steps of the church!
Wedding party photos on the beach of Puerto Morelos…
The reception was held poolside at the Hacienda Tres Rios resort… it was a very private and lovely setting for an amazing party!

Ah, the power of deadlines! As busy as editing the final (amazing each and every one!) weddings of 2012 has kept things I just had to drop everything and blog one more from the November stash before 2013 arrives! 2012 was such a year for lovely weddings and happy, happy couples. Elaine and Jerry totally captured our hearts, Lindsey and I loved being able to tell the story of their destination wedding at Azul Sensatori through photographs. Here is a glimpse of the day’s festivities. Warm New Year’s wishes to all!

Heidi and Chris were married on a beautiful sunny day in Mexico’s Riviera Maya at one of our favorite wedding locations, the El Dorado Royale. This was an amazing fiesta, family and friends had such a great time celebrating with the delightful bride and groom! I am sure there is no way to overstate how much dreaming, planning and thought goes into each wedding. I am sure that a great deal of thought went into the planning of this destination wedding. I know that for the bride and groom and their loved ones this once-in-a-lifetime day must have flown by in the blink of an eye! I really hope that the photographs Lauren and I fortunate to be able to capture on the wedding day (and at the trash the dress session the next morning!) will somehow help to turn back the calendar and stop the clock, allowing them to re-experience this great day spent with family and friends in Mexico… not just once but for years as part of the beautiful history of a wonderful new family. Casey and Ron’s wedding was the first of the fall season for Lauren and I and we thoroughly enjoyed photographing this beautiful tie the knot on a Mexican beach. This wedding and the morning after TTD session at the Dreams Riviera Cancun resort in Puerto Morelos was a great way to get our feet wet (literally!) and jump back in right where we left off shooting amazing weddings for incredible couples. We are looking forward to a wonderful season and adding weddings featuring both destination and local couples to the blog very soon.
Casey had planned a good window of time for the pre-ceremony photos, I love this type of schedule because it gives us time for getting ready candids of both bride and groom as well as photos of the yummy bridal details (and Casey’s were to die for!) not to mention bridal photos…there is not always time for these so I consider it a luxury to be able to have some quiet time to focus on the bride before it all begins.

The photo of the shoes is Lauren’s, I have noticed that when I tell Lauren that a detail shot she’s in the process of making won’t work it tends to end up on the blog! Oops…Lauren I love this shot and I promise to have a little more faith!

One “getting ready” photo of Ron before the ceremony…

No one wants to get emotional and risk ruining the make up prior to the ceremony…Casey took one look at her mom’s proud and happy expression and it was inevitable that she would get choked up as well. I loved how this photo tells the story.

Another story telling image, while Casey’s mother was attaching a wedding brooch that has been handed down through the generations and worn by each bride she told the flower girl that someday she may wear it herself, I loved her reaction to this little piece of family history.

A few photos from the beach ceremony, the flower girl and a proud father of the bride.

Bride and groom, a few happy beach photos after the ceremony…

A few photos of the bright orange and fuschia ceremony decor for the pool side reception overlooking the oceean.

First dance and fiesta…

The day after session… bright and early! Casey and Ron, you were such good sports, or maybe you were really just very obedient sleep walkers…either way I thank you for your patience so early in the morning!

What a joyful day! I actually tried my best not to photograph this wedding! Believing I could not guarantee to be back from Kate and Bill’s Puerto Vallarta wedding in time I told Robin I was unavailable and recommended a couple of very talented fellow photographers. Fortunately for me Robin was firm in her decision and not a person who lets logistics stand in the way. When she did some legwork and started finding ways to make it possible I turned out to be putty in her hands! I was almost afraid to see what she could convince me to do on the day of the wedding! Of course she and Heath are as nice a couple as I could ever imagine working with and the wedding was both a warm and happy tradition filled celebration and a feast for the eye. Thank you Robin and Heath for not taking no for an answer! I loved photographing the wedding!
Girls and guys before the wedding…
Robin and Heath chose to do a “first look” before the ceremony.
The ceremony site was just beautiful and meaningful as well.
I loved this one!
Lauren captured the next image, nice!
