Part Two of Jessica and Mark´s Mexico destination wedding at the Rosewood Mayakoba. This beautiful Playa del Carmen destination wedding was featured today on Style Me Pretty! Our last post featured photographs of the getting ready and ceremony parts of the day at the Rosewood Mayakoba. Here are bride and groom portraits and photos of the intimate, relaxed beach reception.

One of my favorite aspects of destination wedding photography is creatively highlighting the couple´s natural and unique dynamic while at the same time showcasing the setting under the changing lighting conditions the moment provides. The exciting (and challenging!) part is that unlike editorial or commercial photography this all happens in what can feel like a speeded up version of real time, wedding moments are so precious they often seem to move much more quickly than any others. Here are a few bride and groom photographs of the very happy Jessica and Mark overlooking the waterway of the Rosewood Mayakoba.

Bride and groom rejoined the guests at the beach to celebrate. The rustic vintage decor was just lovely… I am such a fan of the string lights, and the very personal table of picture frames was a showstopper!

If you´ve read part one you know that Jessica is a silhouette artist, here are Señor and señora silouttes on the couple´s reception chairs.

Hola! Photographs from this beautiful February Mexico destination wedding at the Rosewood Mayakoba were featured today on mega wedding blog Style Me Pretty. Of course we could not let another minute go by without finally giving the wedding photographs their due time here on the Elizabeth Medina Photography website. Gracias Jess and Mark, we loved photographing your fiesta in Mexico!

A few getting ready details on the gorgeous grounds of the Rosewood…

Jessica gives one last run through of ¨Grow Old With You¨…she learned to play the Ukelele to surprise Mark at the reception on the beach, So sweet!

In addition to a beautiful couple and a rocking beach reception the wedding had very special original details… Jessica is a silhouette artist, with a company specializing in amazing pet silhouettes! I loved discovering the cool way silhouettes (with a Latin flair!) were used as a very personal wedding theme!

The ceremony was held in the Rosewood´s pier overlooking the water, the bride and her bridesmaids arrived by boat to make their entrance.

After the ceremony the bride and groom rode off into the sunset in their private gondola, gazing into each others eyes and toasting their marriage with champagne. HA! I am aware that this sounds like something from a movie or an over the top romance novel but it really did happen! I promise! And there are photos to prove it! Next post, Part 2, bride and groom photos and photographs of the rustic chic vintage style beach party.

Such a beautiful beach wedding! Yari and James are an awesome couple! We loved being able to share in the oodles of laughter (and more than a few happy tears!) these two shared with their friends and family throughout the day. By the end of the evening we felt like we had made a whole new group of friends (not to mention a new branch of the Medina clan). It was very clear that many hours had been spent lovingly and carefully planning this lovely vintage inspired beach wedding. The Azul beach resort in Puerto Morelos, is one of our favorites in the Riviera Maya, it was perfect for this intimate event. I hope the photographs reflect a bit of the happiness and bring back wonderful memories for the bride and groom! All photographs Lauren and Elizabeth Medina.

This destination wedding had a vintage theme that was carried out elegantly, the brooch bouquets carried by the bride and bridesmaids were amazing!

Nothing like kicking off the wedding season with a beautiful local event that takes us back to our hacienda wedding photography roots! Having known Daniela for some time and having photographed her brother Paco with his bride Zahia back in May we knew it was going to be a wonderful day spent in very good company. Hacienda Chichí Suarez dates from the 16th century, we have photographed a few events in this location and love the way different spaces have been used in a way that has made each event seem very unique. Daniela and Alejandro had their wedding at 1:00 pm, which allowed for wonderful photography opportunities. …I love love love seeing and working with natural light, there is just nothing like it!
The first one is Lindsey’s photo, what a lovely composition!
Daniela was an extremely beautiful bride!
Daniela and one of her “pajes”
The next one is Lindsey’s, I wish it were mine though!
The two familes together…
The reception had such colorful details! All perfectly tied toghether but very unexpected, just perfect for this afternoon wedding… a very unique twist on the hacienda setting! My regular blog readers have probably deduced, this Merida, Yucatan wedding was designed and coordinated by my friends at BAKU Events. I really can’t say enough good things about the BAKU team, it is a real treat to watch them in action as they work their magic!
We were ablet o do a few more photographs around the hacienda grounds before it was time for Alejandro and Daniela’s ‘first dance” as husband and wife.
First dance and father daughter dance…
Many more coming soon!
